Offshore Solutions B.V. is pleased to announce that Mr. Ralph Hardwick, has joined the company as Manager of Regulatory Affairs.
Ralph will be responsible for developing a strategic Safety, Health & Environmental regulatory advisory service for its current and future clients.
This is a key appointment for OSBV. It will enhance the company’s service portfolio and enable it to supply the offshore industry with quality solutions for Safety Case, Licence to Operate and other international regulatory issues.
With variations in the regulatory requirements between coastal nations, the need for clear and practical advice and guidance on compliance issues is essential for today’s international offshore service providers. With the development of this service OSBV aim to provide bespoke advice on all areas of Safety, Health & Environmental compliance and assist clients in developing the required systems and documentation.
Ralph brings a wealth of experience to OSBV in Health & Safety compliance and management systems. With over 20 years of offshore experience, he most recently served as an Offshore Inspector in the UK Health and Safety Executive where he managed the assessment of UK Safety Cases, the development of industry guidance and the training of UK HSE Inspectors.
A qualified Marine Engineer, he has undertaken offshore inspections of the majority of UK Gas producing installations, including joint inspections with foreign state regulatory authorities and has experience of both manned and unmanned installations, floating production systems, mobile offshore drilling & accommodation units and construction vessels.
During his career he has been extensively involved in the UK Step Change Workforce Involvement Network and worked on the development of technical contractor management and competency guidance for the HSE. Ralph also developed and delivered core ‘management system’ inspection training to HSE Inspectors regulating the onshore and offshore major hazards industries.
Ralph has been involved in the OHSAS 18001 consultation process on behalf of the HSE and has presented talks on Successful Health & safety Management (HS(G)65) at local and regional IOSH forums. Prior to joining the HSE, Ralph held a variety of management positions within the offshore oil and gas business, working for AMEC, Kvaerner and Salamis.
